NBFB athletes represent Bulgaria in INBA, WABBA, and NANBF international championships.
The classic division judged on muscle size, symmetry, conditioning, and stage presentation. Athletes compete in multiple weight classes for men and open classes for women. The pinnacle of natural physique development.
Classic Physique celebrates the golden-era bodybuilding aesthetic. Weight limits tied to height ensure a balanced, proportional look over maximum size. Flow, stage confidence, and symmetry are paramount.
Men's Physique focuses on an athletic, beach-ready aesthetic. Judged from the waist up, this division rewards a V-taper, defined musculature, and confident stage presence without extreme conditioning.
Bikini Fitness judges overall femininity, balanced muscle tone, beauty, and stage presence. This is the fastest-growing division in natural bodybuilding, welcoming athletes at all levels of experience.
Figure rewards a more muscular, defined look than Bikini while remaining symmetrical and feminine. Athletes display conditioning, muscle density, and stage confidence in a demanding and prestigious division.
The Wellness division celebrates a fuller, more curvaceous physique with emphasis on the lower body — glutes, hamstrings, and quads — while maintaining a proportionate upper body and feminine appeal.
Every NBFB athlete is subject to drug testing. We do not make exceptions. Our testing protocols are among the strictest in Bulgarian sport, ensuring every trophy, every medal, and every title is earned through hard work alone.
Every competitor must complete a polygraph examination before stepping on stage. No exceptions, no opt-outs — this applies to all athletes in every division.
Biological testing at NBFB competitions is conducted by WADA, the World Anti-Doping Agency, following their accredited protocol. Both urinalysis and blood panels are administered on-site.
First violation: 5-year ban. Second violation: lifetime ban. Zero exceptions, zero appeals outside protocol.
We follow the World Anti-Doping Agency's annual prohibited substances list in its entirety.
Our certification program allows athletes who maintain a clean record over 2+ seasons to carry the NBFB Certified Natural badge — recognized across our partner federations.
Testing is conducted by accredited independent laboratories. Results are confidential but violations are publicly disclosed.

Every competitor at the 2026 NBFB Bulgarian Open will undergo a mandatory polygraph examination before stepping on stage, in addition to urine and blood testing conducted by WADA. Combining a pre-competition polygraph with WADA-administered biological testing sets a new standard for natural sport in Bulgaria and reinforces our commitment to a genuinely drug-free stage.
